EARTH DAY - HOW IT BEGAN!

Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22nd. Take some time to find out about how one man, who was determined to change the way we treated our planet, didn't stop until he had made a difference.

Making The World A Better Place

In 1963, Senator Gaylord Nelson wasn't happy with the earth's condition. He wanted to clean up the planet and solve pollution and environmental problems. As a senator, Gaylord Nelson was someone chosen by US citizens to help make laws, so he had a lot of power.

We can come in and remove the water, then we will set up fans to dry your floor, and a dehumidifier, to remove all moisture from the air.

During the month of April, as you all know we are concentrating our blog on Spring Cleaning. And I in my spare time  I am also practicing what I preach! But unfortunately I find myself facing a conundrum. There is one place in my house that is....well basically my Kryptonite. When I enter this domain, I get weak, as if all my life force is being sucked out of me! I lose all interest in my spring cleaning tasks , and my only desire is to curl up in the fetal position and hide under my favorite blanket.

How to get stains out of your carpet!

Stain removal, carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning     Keeping the floors and carpets clean this time of year can be a challenge. Tracking in of dust, dirt, sand and water is hard to eliminate. Placing a mat outside the entry doors or just inside the door helps reduce the amount tracked through the house. Removing shoes by the door also saves from carrying soil and dampness throughout the house. Regular sweeping and vacuuming is especially necessary to keep the floors and carpet in the best condition during any time of the year. It is important to remove loose soil while it is on the surface of carpet so it doesn’t work into the pile of the carpet.

Spring Cleaning Tip # 4 - The Bedroom

Maid Service, bedroomThe Bedroom

In the days and weeks following the end of winter, spring cleaning becomes a priority among household and bedroom duties. The trouble is knowing where you should begin. In this article, you will find tips on how to spring clean the most important room of the house: your bedroom. From getting rid of unwanted belongings, to deep cleaning, to cheap cleaning products and practical advice, this article will set you on your way to making your bedroom the best room of the house.

The first thing you should do is go through your closet and bookshelves, separating the articles you like and use from the ones you are simply afraid to get rid of.

Spring Cleaning Tip # 3 (The Garage)

Maid Service - GarageReclaim Your Parking Space

If carport clutter is driving you mad, start by reclaiming your parking space. The trick: Utilize the walls. A securely mounted pegboard system will get your tools — rakes, hoses, even wheelbarrows — off the floor and out of the way, plus you'll always be able to see what you have. Carve out even more space by mounting a row of shelves above the board. Just keep a sturdy step stool or ladder handy so you can safely access overhead gear. Also: Make sure to secure bulkier items to the board with a bungee cord.

Organizing your closet is the first step to organizing the rest of your home. Get rid of unused clothes and accessories, and organize the rest by how you get dressed in the morning and by color. Your closet will look appealing, and your everyday routine will be easier.

Spring Cleaning Tip #1

Maid Service - Kitchen
Through out April we will be giving some helpful spring cleaning tips.

Taking Care of Stainless Steel

To keep your stainless steel bright and clean, Adam Kamens of Amuneal Manufacturing Corp. suggests using a light mist of wax-based aerosol spray once or twice a week. Don't put on too much — you don't want to soak the surface and make it greasy. Wipe the mist with a clean, lint-free cloth, and never use oils to keep away fingerprints — lint will stick to the oil. Also, don't use cleaners with bleach after you've put on the waxy layer, or it will dry out and lose some of the luster.
